Shaw University’s Board of Trustees recently approved the University’s comprehensive fee schedule for the 2023-24 academic year. The annual price for tuition, housing, food, and fees will increase by 5% from $23,354 to $24,522. This is an important update, as the University has not increased its rates since Academic Year 2013-2014. For 10 years, our rates have remained flat while inflation has risen an average of 3% for the same period – and increased to 6.6% since 2021. We have maintained the previous rates by focusing on controlling our costs. This rate increase will allow us to maintain our service levels and commitment to our students.

Under the Affordable Health Care Act, all students are required to have health insurance. Shaw may waive the health insurance requirement if students have valid proof of current health insurance coverage. For those students who do not meet the waiver requirement, Shaw provides a plan through our insurance broker EIAA for an annual cost of $1,640.
