We’re excited to announce that Shaw Rising won an Emmy for Feature Documentary, Historical. The award is for the Nashville region of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
“I would not be where I am today without Shaw University—the school that educated my mother, my father, my aunts, and uncles,” said Travis Mitchell, Raleigh native and co-executive producer of Shaw Rising. “I grew up on the campus of Shaw. When the opportunity presented itself to me, as Chief Content Officer of UNC-TV, to help finish the film it was a huge honor and a way to say thank you to all those Shaw graduates who paved the way for me by sharing the Shaw story with the world.”
