Dr. Tesch’s chemistry students designed Valentine’s Day cards inspired by notable Black chemists. We celebrate the amazing work of Black chemists with these creations. Everyone did great work but the winners and honorable mentions listed below did outstanding work.
The Winners of the Valentine’s Card/Black History Month Chemistry Competition are:
1st place –> Jordan Brandon (Alice Ball, Inject Me With Your Love)
2nd place –> Zenzele Fulton (Marie Daly, You are like Cholesterol, Dangerous to my Heart)
3rd place –> Mariah Williams (Katherine Johnson, According to my Calculations You are Out of This World!)
Honorable Mentions:
Janell Odom (Marie Daly, I think of U Periodically)
Samira Briscoe (Alma Levant Hayden, My Love, oh How I Ache for You!)
The competition was fierce – selecting the winners and honorable mentions was a challenge. Congratulations again to all for such terrific work. We hope this Chemistry themed competition continues. The winning entries and honorable mentions can be viewed on the bulletin board on the second floor of Roberts Science Building (across from the elevators).
