Join us for the Raleigh City Council Meeting on May 2nd, 2023 at 7pm and learn how The ShawU District will improve campus life and downtown living.

SHOW YOUR SUPPORT NOW!

It’s time to make our voices heard and stand in support of the vision and potential for The ShawU District on our campus. On May 2nd, the Raleigh City Council will vote on the university’s rezoning request. We’re asking ALL STUDENTS, FACULTY, STAFF, ALUMNI, SUPPORTERS, PARTNERS, and FRIENDS of Shaw University to stand in agreement with us and send a clear message to Council Members that we are united in our cause and excited about this opportunity to transform our campus community.

A vote of support and approval from the City Council will allow ShawU leaders and the campus planning committee to solicit further input from students, alumni, and community partners on what the needs and priorities are for The ShawU District. Then, we’ll proceed to the next step of developing a Campus Master Plan for The ShawU District – Pathway to Possibilities.

Remember to wear your ShawU District T-shirt or Shaw Bears sweatshirt and come out in person to show your support at the City Council meeting on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. – plan to arrive early to get a seat. This is our chance to be heard and to make history again!
