Why is Black entrepreneurship important?

Black-owned businesses can serve as economic engines in their communi- ties. Black entrepreneurs generally hire other Black employees from the local area, therefore impacting employment rates. The median net worth for Black business owners is 12 times higher than that of Black non-business owners. However, Black businesses earn low average revenues compared to non- black businesses. This leaves an area of opportunity for Black entrepreneurs to realize greater financial stability.
